I typically post songs that have great music videos to compliment the music, but this one is an exception.
Song for the Day - Alex Cameron "Candy May"
Alex Cameron has been on my playlist lately and his new album, Forced Witness, is coming out soon. The album will feature Candy May which has a great music video that takes place in the homeland. The music video merges the music, Cameron's style, and the Beautiful Las Vegas landscape into a nice music video.
(Local) Songs for the Day - Wimps "KEXP Live Porformance"
A music-buff friend of mine visited Seattle this past week and we attended a lot of live concerts. I quickly realized I have no idea of how much good stuff is within a quick local bus ride. My favorite from this past week was Wimps, who feature an upbeat tempo with some great / funny vocals. This is definitely worth a listen while you avoid talking to your coworkers this morning. Enjoy.

Man Man released a new music video for a good song entitled "Loot My Body" that is worthy of a Song for the Day. For all the people in the Cincinnati area- they are having a show tonight that is worth checking out.
Song for the Day - Beck "Where It's At"
Happy Wednesday- only two more days to go. I think this calls for some Beck grooviness.

Song(s) for the Day - Röyksopp "Remind Me" + "Happy Up Here"
Recently, I was listening to the classic top 50 most played songs on my phone this past weekend and ran across a Röyksopp song. Listening to song reminded me of what a great music video "Remind Me" was. The video is a bit old now, 2002, but still remains interesting in how it uses infographics to explain a woman's work day in London. The video was put together by H5, which is a pretty good french design firm from what I can tell. This video won Best Music Video in 2002 at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
Another great music video that is worthy of sharing and making this a double song packed post is "Happy Up There" by the same artist, which features robot light bulb objects flying above a city mimicking space invaders.

Song for the Day - Man Man "Head on (Hold on to your Heart)"
I have been doing quite a bit of traveling this past month. Some was expected and some unexpected (thankfully my office hasn't fired me... yet). I have an arsenal of post ideas that I plan to roll out in the coming weeks. In the mean time I want to share a cool band called Man Man that I saw live about a month ago that has been getting quite a bit of play lately. I bought their recent album On Oni Pond this past week and highly recommend you do too.
This is "Head on (Hold on to your Heart)" from the previously mentioned album that is pretty good.
This is a fun video of the same song featuring the lead guy, Honus Honus (Ryan Kattner), playing the piano on the back of a truck.
Song for the Day - Devil Makes Three "Gracefully Facedown"
The Devil Makes Three is a great band I've been following since a friend of mine, Andrew in DC, brought me to a show. I have since bought all their albums and their newest one is being released October 29th, (although the vinyl version I pre-ordered won't be released until November 19th! Double Standards!) So enjoy a live recording of an old favorite from Seattle's very own KEXP.
Song for the Day - Lorde "Royals"
This song lyrically seems symbolic of the architectural field in general, except the Cadillac part (maybe they are more of a luxury car in New Zealand, where Lorde is from). Overall I like how this video is shot, it reminds me somewhat of an earlier Song for the Day, Kid Cudi "Make Her Say".
Song for the Day - Daft Punk "Lose Yourself to Dance"
I have never been a HUGE Daft Punk fan, but the recent plays of their music on the radio convinced me to buy the album. It's a good compilation featuring "Get Lucky" and "Lose Yourself to Dance." This is the first music video for the album.
The album and video has some serious disco influences and I can't help but wonder if this is the beginning of a disco return... Ya, I'm not sure what I think about that, perhaps future PBR commercials will look like this.

Happy Thursday. I wish it were Friday. If Skee-Lo had the choice, everyday would be a Friday.
Song for the Day - Two Man Gentleman Band "Minivan"
This song spoke to me (I drive a minivan) and I thought I would share.
The Two Man Gentleman Band has a lot great songs worth checking out if you like the bluegrassy feel of these guys.
This topic reminds me of Peter Segal's defense of minivans from a few years ago, which speaks truth about the topic.

This song brings back great memories of UNLV basketball games at the Thomas and Mack. The basketball music guy, back in the day, would queue "Show Me What You Got" with the exactly enough time before the start of the second half. In honor of the first day of the conference tournament, UNLV, show me what you got!
